If you have several monitors attached to your Mac, then WindowWarp is the INIT you have been waiting for !
* Option-click in the zoom box of a window, and the window will warp to the next screen. If the window happens to be too large (or the screen too small), then the window is resized.
* Shift-Option-click in the zoom box of a window, and the window will warp to the other screen AND be resized to fit the screen.
Using the control panel, you can customize the hot actions. Click on 'Warp', 'Smart Warp' or 'Warp to full Size' (it will become inverted) to activate the recording. You can either press a modifier-key combination (eg. command-shift-W), any key will do, function keys or special keys are allowed. You can also press a modifier-key with an action (eg. Option-click in zoom). In the this case, hold down the mouse button in the small picture of the window (in the lower right corner).
WindowWarp does work for most (if not all) applications if they are written reasonably well. WindowWarp simulates the action of a user dragging and resizing a window by patching some Toolbox traps. Some applications use a window as a tool- or a status-window. In this case, using a key-combination might not be the best way to execute the warp, a mouse-action will be more accurate.
This utility is not free, but ShareWare, so please, respect my work and do not give it around ! The shareware fee is $25.
After using WindowWarp for some time, you will see that the mouse cursor changes into a little fish. Do not panic ! You can get rid of that fish by paying your shareware contribution, in which case I will tell you the 'magic trick' for removing that fish. (Do not forget to mention your address, phone or fax number or network address).
If you are living in Europe, please pay BEF 700,- by EuroCheque, if that's not possible, or if you live elsewhere, please send some banknotes for the amount of $25. No cheque please, because the banking costs are very high in that case ! THANKS.
